R v Commissioner for Standards & Privileges ex parte Al Fayed [1998]

The Court of Appeal ruled that the court had no jurisdiction to review decisions of the Commissioner, on the basis that the Commissioner was concerned with activities within Parliament, and the Commissioner was accountable to the special standing committee in the House of Commons, which alone had the power to perform supervisory functions over the Commissioner.
